The UCI Washington, D.C. Academic Internship Program is more than an undergraduate academic internship/research program. The Program provides both research and teaching opportunities for faculty and graduate students in the UC Washington Center in DC. The Center offers office space, computers, and telephones for visiting faculty and graduate students. Drop in to check your e-mail when you're in town or use our office facilities for an extended stay. We have facilities to accommodate most requests.
Faculty-in-Residence
The program is open to UCI Faculty from all departments can serve from one quarter to one year in residence at the UC Washington Center. Faculty responsibilities during a quarter include teaching one elective course (of the faculty member's choice) and one seminar (for UCI students) which explores both the DC area and the students' internships. One UCI TA is in residence to support these courses. Application deadline is on the application below.

Graduate Fellows
Graduate Fellows (TA) positions are open to UCI graduate students from all departments whose doctoral research would significantly benefit from a period in residence in Washington DC, and who have shown excellence as teaching assistants at UCI. Graduate students may serve from one quarter to one year at the UC Washington Center, and support the UCI Faculty-in-Residence each quarter. Applicants must be graduate students who have not exceeded university regulations on the number of quarters of TA eligibility. The announcement for Graduate Fellows is sent out via e-mail by UCI departments in approximately March of each year, and applications are generally due in April.
