**NOTE: We are offering a Fall Semester Program for a limited number of participants. The total estimated budget for the fall semester is $10,376. The costs are the same as above, except an additional $1090 for rent and an additional $875 for estimated meals, living expenses, and local transportation during the additional 4 weeks spent in DC.

- The UCI Financial Aid Office adjusts aid awards to meet the increased costs of the Washington DC Academic Internship Program! Upon selection, the Washington DC program will provide participant names to the Financial Aid Office, who will recalculate awards based on the budget above.
Other Budget Considerations:
- Most DC participants indicate that, overall, living expenses in Washington seemed to be significantly higher than at their UC campuses.
- Students remark that they tend to eat more meals at restaurants and spend more on entertainment when in Washington DC.
- Although rare and competitive, it is possible to find a paid internship in DC. Apply early and to several internship sites, if you are hoping to find a paid internship.
