While you are responsible for finding and securing your internship during your academic quarter in Washington, D.C., you will be assisted by the Program Coordinators at UC Irvine along with the Program Administrator at the Washington Center in Washington, D.C.  In addition, the program will provide you with materials previous interns have used and advice and guidance in our pre-departure orientations. Field Work enables students who have been accepted to an internship site in Washington, D.C. to receive P/NP credit for a part-time internship and related work (4 units P/NP for 20-27 hours/week; 6 units P/NP for 28-32 hours/week) or a full-time internship and related work. (8 units P/NP for 33+ hours/week). Field Work is used in conjunction with the Washington Seminar to provide students with a social, political, cultural, educational, and academic experience in Washington, D.C.
